im looking to purchase a couple 55 gal drums for salt and fresh water. what im wondering is how people get the water back out? id rather not buy more pumps. can i bulkhead a regular plastic 55 gal drum? how do you do it?

I used uniseals there made for round applications... If there is a flat spot you can use a bulk head.. My drums are on a 18" stand with uniseals In the bottom like 2" up... Shove a pipe in the uniseal and put a ball valve on it... Simple and works like a charm...:)

Uniseal, then a socket PVC fitting should push right in. I use a TrueUnion ball valve (has great flow).
