Spider Sponge - How Difficult?

Thanks for the advice, all. The LFS has a no returns policy on sponges, so I'm going to give it to go and incorporate all your advice. Thanks for your help.

Any updates on how your sponge has done?
Sorry. Just saw this. I've been able to keep if looking OK, but it appear time might be running short. The white zoantid part seems to be dying. I think it's tough to feed it enough without polluting your water. I won't get another one.

This is a goog sponge to have. Easy care level and grows in weird shapes.

That is an awesome sponge, it is photosynthetic and is easy to care for, handles most reef lights anywhere in the tank. Here's mine in a very neglected tank, a horrible pic but use your imagination, it's a very royal purple color.

Here's my spider sponge, I've had it for 2.5 months and it's touch and go at this point, but it did have some sort of nudibranch. The spider is in an nps tank being fed several times a day. I agree with above that this is likely a sponge that doesn't last long, I've never seen anyone with one before. I didn't dip the sponge or notice the nudis until it stopped opening. I wonder if I could have done better if it wasn't for the nudis.
