No problem Nate82.=)

Just to make clear, that picture is mine not Mr. Coral. He calls it a Spider Sponge...I call it White Lightning Sponge.

oh thats funny i thought it looked like white lightening sponge but wasnt sure. isnt it simply a sponge that has another type of animal that lives on it (the white part).

I dont know how true this is but i have heard they really dont live long bc the polyps eat away at the sponge, once the sponge is gone the polyps die.

The polyps do not eat the sponge...they have a symbiotic relationship. If the hydrazoas died, then the sponge would too and vice versa. With the right care, they can live for a long time but they are strongly suggested to the intermediate / advance aquarist.

Okay cool thanks for clearing that up. The only reason i posted that was to be told i was wrong which i was hoping is true bc im going to try some. As far as care ik i can take care of them, i just didnt want to buy something that i thought was doing that. Thanks Jen for the correction.

I wouldn't. You risk die off on the sponge that can spread quickly and it won't heal. I think putty won't be sticky enough so maybe try the toothpick technique or try finding a rock crevice to stick it in. Just my 02.c.=)
