One of my reidi seahorses has gradually (over the past month or so) grown what looks to be a spike (similar to the ones that run along their back) on his pouch. Has anyone had experience with this??

It started as what looked like a small bruise/discolouration and assumed it was a small injury. But now the spike is about 1.5mm long. He’s totally healthy/happy otherwise and eating normally

Hey can you post some pictures of your pony,, try not to have to much blue lights mostly white so it’s more visible,, glad he’s acting normal and eating, that’s always a good sign

Sorry it took so long!

I forgot about the lights, I can take another pic tomorrow if you need!

First of all what a beautiful pony, also love the colors in your tank,, I’m no expert but it looks like it’s just a part of his body ( kinda looks like it grew a *****) just keep close eye on it make sure no infection starts ,, if he’s eating and acting normal don’t sweat it to much
I’m a bug believer in letting Mother Nature do her thing, I never QT anything I never use any chemicals and don’t dose my tank with anything man made and so far I’ve been ok
You might want to reach out to @rayjay he has many more years of experience than I ,, good luck and hope all works out for your seahorse
