It's very hard/solid. Some flame algae got stuck in it and hard to remove.
photo under white ;) the focus and the zoom it's enough I think (get few different angles
 
Agree, looks like a sponge. They can be hard and spiky.
because I see some spikes there I think it's sponge, but none is that hard to touching even the calcareous sponges (don't know what pressure he put on it)
 
I took it at 100% White under the Kessil light. It's still blue :/

Just retook some pics under a different LED

can you brush it with toothbrush a bit, you will see it, and take new photo under the white

Yeah I just tried touching it and thr spikes aren't hard. But the core/body is like a shell.

I'm afraid it will die if I brush it? It's been staying in the same spot on the shell for weeks.
 
@SHNICI I just brushed it with a toothbrush and it did nothing. Looks like the spikes are part of the body.
