I maybe be moving soon and new place my have carpet. Any solutions to help with tank spills? I was thinking of making some kind of possible tray for the whole tank, but tank is 8x3x12. So maybe a little more difficult thank running to home depot and getting a tray.

Maybe a foodservice supply. Or large furnace tray?

cut the carpet out around the tank, lay some tile add some floor molding so it blends would be how i would do it. Similar to what you would do around a fire place.

Unfortunately renting, so won’t have the option to change things out. I have been looking at large hydroponics grow trays, but 4x8 is the largest I can find so far.

What about one of those clear carpet things you put under an office chair?
and some kinda barrier like those hydrophilic rolls the grocery store uses when a refrigerator fails, when sleeping or out.

I think sunlight supply, hydrofarm, or one of the others used to make 12 foot hydro trays. Not sure they still do. A HVAC place can custom make a tray as they make duct work usually. Just won't be cheap. Otherwise plan on replacing carpet once you move, I negotiated that in my rental. They were going to replace it but I said no. So any damage to carpet is exempt. Mostly due to my big dog, he drags in a lot of mud

Thanks for all the advice. Something has to work. I don’t intend to flood the floor. I’m or for just small drips and spills

Wrap the outside with pvc gutters. That's what I did, on the backside for my tank, where most leaks occur for me. Gutters are made to catch rain, so perfect for catching leaks.

Are you talking about spills during maintenance or just looking out for unintended drips in the stand? If the tanks not up and running just waterseal the stand.

Silicone caulk all the little crevices, then spray the bottom with a water proof paint, maybe an epoxy for a garage floor?

Or find a small pool liner and glue it in?

Just some thoughts

I got my runner carpets with the rubber backing at menards. but I would think home Depot would have it also. it's on a big roll sold by the foot & they have several different widths it works great.
