Any thoughts on an ID for this weird thing? Showed up overnight.

Initially thinking egg cluster from a snail but on second look that appears to have some dimensionality to it. Any nudibranchs in the tank that you know of?

Egg cluster from snails.
Are you sure? Do you know what kind? I only have ceriths, trochus, and fighting conchs. Get plenty of eggs and never anything looking like that.

No known nudibranches and tons of fish that eat them.

Following along cause I've never seen anything like that. Almost looks like a skeletal structure of something with the dimension and all, but I have no idea.

It certainly does. It appears gelatinous though since sways softly in the flow. And it has little fuzzy things coming out of it that could almost resemble tiny sweeper tentacles.

Maybe worth mentioning the only recent change has been adding live mussels to my many other feeding sources to keep a CBB and "semi reef safe" angels from nipping.

Very interesting.. does it seem to react to movement or retract when touched?
No? I don't think so? Video of it being touched attached.

Look like Whelk eggs.

If he put any local stuff in, that’s certainly a possibility. Here in Tampa whelks are very common finds at the beach.
