I seem to be noticing more and more microscratches on the inside of my tank. Looks to be from the magnetic scraper but I've checked it numerous times and I'm not seeing any sand stuck in the velcro. I am getting quite a bit of these spirorbid worms (white dots) all over my glass and when I scrub them they break into tiny pieces and get stuck in between. Are they hard and sharp enough to scratch the glass?

Entirely possible. Ideally remove them with a razor scraper prior to mag clean.

I switched from the Flipper to the Tunze because of this. I also stopped leaving it in the tank.

Yep, I had them grow on the velcro surface when I left in a long time.

How do you guys negotiate corners with your Tunze? I end with the wet side on the bottom about half the time.

I raise one end up to the water edge and grab it. Just my finger tips get wet and transfer between glass planes by hand.

As for changing direction from horizontal to vertical, sometimes I twist to fast and the wet side falls off. So I just learned to go slow.

Yeah, I try to get around the corners without lifting my covers and putting my hand in the tank. Probably should quit being lazy and do it the way you are!:D

So I can pretty much confirm that this will scratch the glass. Not deep but definitely noticeable if standing about 1ft away. Make sure to scrape them away with a blade first before using a velcro or felt cleaner.
