One week of bleaching my live rock in this stuff was not how I wanted to start my rebuild. Let this be a lesson to everyone else. Buy regular, unscented, very splashy, without clormax or any of that fancy modern stupid bleach. It's insane how many kinds of bleach there is, Guess the snowflakes of my generation even need their bleach catered too as well.

Explain what happened....
I used splashless bleach to clean my rock. Took many rinsings and several vinegar baths to get rid of the stuff. I was stupid not to check before using this stuff.

I hear you. Not a stupid mistake, actually a very easy one to make. I did recently.

There was a thread recently where someone else used it in error too. Can’t remember who. Search to see if you can find it. He was able to save and clean his rocks.

I've heard horror stories about splashless bleach. Do a search on here and you'll see. People have rinsed sand and it never comes clean. Or constantly makes the water cloudy.
Personally I never used bleach on anything for my tanks in 20 years, always vinegar or citric acid.

Yeah, I read that thread. Did the whole vinegar soak minus using hot water. Vinegar did most of the trick as well as daily water changes and a decent amount of carbon.

Theres always PLAN B

Why you bashing people because you didn't read the label?

I did read the label. It was my ignorance for not researching what splashless bleach entailed. I can bash my generation all I want. We're a bunch of whiny brats that need to grow up.

I just took mine out and have them air drying outside. I made sure it wasn’t scented but never heard of splashless. Now I need to go check the bottles dang it!!!!! Lol.

I know splashless isn’t horrible..and it’s hard to find normal bleach these days so I buy generic now it just says bleach lol and it is and works way better

Splashless bleach may/may not contain detergent. You want regular ol' plain bleach. I found it at Walmart.
