I do minor repairs on homes and from time to time have to splice wires. I'm guessing this wouldn't be best but has anyone ever spliced a powerhead cord, with the spliced end more towards the plug area?

Yep and heaters too I must cut then to run through grommets and reef lids. I solder and heat shrink just fine and leave the splice out of water each time

Thanks ya'll! Apreciate the responses.

I wasn't sure with this. I'm actually going to cut the cord so that I can run it through my overflow and not have it show in my tank.
