Hey guys, first post and first time regiserting. I found on one of my live rocks had a clear white tenticle coming out of between the rocks and seems to have split ends (hammer coral end looking). As soon as i turn the lights on it goes back in between the rocks. When lights are iff, it streches upto 2-3inches far out. Could you experts tell me what these are and if they are reef safe? Thank you

I believe what you're looking at is a type of digitate hydroid.

Hmm... did some research and only read bad info about digitate hyroids. That they sting, bad for reef, and can multiply lot and fast... let me know if this is any ture and if it is, how i would be able to handle this problem.

Can you get a better pic to confirm?

As someone else mentioned it’s chaetopterid worm. Mostly harmless but can annoy Corals.

Hmmm... all of the things thay is mentioned does not seem to be looking same after doing their research.. i also can not see it out now so i will upload picture later. It is fairly thick one long tenticle (not mucus) with split ends. Looks like hammer coral tips or like a bean sprout tips. Try zooming the picture i uploaded... the tip os bit camo due to sand but still can see. Its on the left side of the tunnel of the rock.
