Split tank

Not having the benefit of two tanks, has anyone ever split a tank with a divider so half can be docile and the other half aggressive? Not a full split with separate feeds, but a divider that lets water flow thru the two areas; one sump source etc. Would like to see one if it's been done...

I guess you could do a glass or acrylic divider and drill holes. Not sure how much flow you would get. Most water mixing would have to be done in the sump. Would be interesting to see

Yep thats Kevins. My wife works at DD. And his tank puts mine to shame LOL. Its a marineland custom. One of the coolest ive seen.

I could say, i've had this pic saved from a while back, cant remember where I found it but its quite the piece.

thats not exactly what 55g was talking about but same principles applied, also I've seen similar applications used at marine stores. a 55 gallon was setup for 4 different nano habitats. at one point I had considered converting a 55 to something similar. its a great concept.

coolest split tank is at my local pecto.

water comes up one return which spills into the middle section of the tank (which has walls that are about 2-3" higher than the outer sections), that mid section spills into the two outer sections, those outer sections drain into the sump.. I'll see if I can finda pic..
