I purchased a one head hammer and one head frogspawn frag for my first corals a week ago. Surprisingly, they have both grown noticeably larger than when it was in LFS. The frogspawn is already starting to split (at least I think it's splitting).

Out of curiosity, when a euphyllia splits does it always split into two or can you get more than two heads as a result of splitting?

Pics. And it can split into as many as it wants. I had a frag of frogspawn and and it split into 5

Sorry for the horrible pic. I still haven't figured out how to get good tank photos yet.

That's what I was hoping to hear. It's very cool how the corals react to light. I turned on more white light to take this photo and the frogspawn started to close up. The bright green in the center is much more open and I believe there's 3 other spots where it's bright green. I'm hoping that's where the new heads will be.

Here's another view of the frogspawn. The white circle shows where it's completely wide open. Yellow circle is a big bubble.

Been a long time since I've been on here. The hammer has at least 6 heads now. I lost my frogspawn long ago but got a new one that started with one head and now has 3. Also have a mushroom that was one and has recently sprouted new mouths as well. My 10 gallon is starting to mature nicely. The biggest lesson I've learned is the hardest lesson most newbies want to hear... patience. I no longer worry about every little change that's occurring in the tank and just let it be and enjoy watching things slowly grow.
