Splitting gig

Poor blue took a stroll and met the mp40. Its been about a month but last pic was today. It lost some big chunks.

Picture update. I can’t say if it’s splitting or not, but there appears to be new tentacle growth along the tear area. Makes me think it’s just a tear and not a split, but we’ll see.

I was cleaning my pumps today and took the opportunity of the lack of flow to check out the other side of the purple gig and it does APPEAR that it’s cleaving on the other side too, which makes me think maybe it is splitting. I tried to grab a photo, but it was on the opposite side with the other gigs and clearly I did not get a great shot of it. You’ll just have to trust me until I get a better shot!

At this point I’m going to say the gig isn’t splitting. I feel like it would have completed by now if it was trying to. I still find it odd that it was tearing on both sides of the mouth in the center, but maybe that was a self inflected wound trying to spread out too much at the top of the rock. Who knows, but I’ll make any update posts if something changes.
