Sponge growing on zoa help

Hi Reefers

Any idea how to get rid of the sponge (I think) growing on my zoa frag , tried to clean it and take it out of water for 5 mins ,it keep coming back .

It's hard to see what color it is, there's a black encrusting sponge that is a serious probblem but most other sponges are beneficial. You might try first gently scrubbing off the sponge in a container of aquarium water (dump the water afterwards obviously) then gently scrub te colony in a container with 5 parts aquarium water and 1 part H2O2 but don't scrub for longer than a minute or two. Then gently rinse it off in a clean container of aquarium water to stop the H2O2 from reacting with the zoas. Your soas are going to be pretty upset so don't be surprised if ti takes several days fo r them to recover.
