It's a sponge like thing. ;) Looks like what's called a "chicken liver sponge", Chondrilla nucula, Coloration will vary depending on how much light it's getting but from my experince it can't tolerate really bright light. It's beneficial and I've moved small pieces of rock with it attached to seed new systems.

Hi you on about the purple on it lol if so that’s because I have Caroline algae in my tank, will it multiple to the point it takes over the tank
Thanks

No, it won't take over your tank. It's highly unlikely to get enough food is one reason. It also does not like bright light so it's going to stay in hte shadows.

My lights not to bright, it’s specific for coral growth and it’s only on 8 hours
Thanks for the info and replying

If your lighting is bright enough for corals it will be too bright for the sponge in direct light. It's not too hard to siphon it out with steel straws if it bothers you where it can be seen.

Na there fine don’t mind them anything good is helpful that one in the photo is hidden in a cave so next to no light on it and it’s been there for months but I do have one growing directly in the light which seems to be doing fine
