Sponge on Live rock ?

I also threw in some live rock from an established tank to help cycle this new one and I noticed the rock is covered in something white and feathery that seems to go with the flow of the water any idea what this could be? The new rocks I purchased for the tank don’t have this and they didn’t have this when they were in my older tank.

This is what I would clean off both rocks with the peroxide and rodi water.

Got it once I transfer all the rocks from that previous tank in to the new one I’ll give them all a scrub, what would you say the ratio of rodi to peroxide should be?

We just have a clean bowl of rodi sitting next to us. Maybe large dinner bowl size lol

Then a little bowl just big enough to dip the toothbrush in. Fill that little bowl with peroxide.

Dip toothbrush into peroxide then scrub.

Go back and forth in-between the water and peroxide on the rock to get a good lather going.

You will get the hang of it.

And don't worry you won't hurt the bacteria in the rock. It goes deeeeeeep.

Then when you think you scrubbed it enough just rinse really well or dunk in bucket of rodi.
