Sponge or eggs on my palys? Huge growth.

Huge growth on my palys. I turned it around and wow. This is choking them. I had a horrible problem with a macro algae growing nuts. I did a dip in coral rx and scrubbed the algae off. What is this white/tan stuff? Any ideas are much appreciated!

Looks like a sponge, on the center right of the photo the one section has an osculum i can see.
