Sponge or not?

I have this yellow mass growing under one of my live rocks. Is it a sponge and would it grow better if I flipped the rock over to get better light?

It's sponge. Harmless filter feeder. Turning the rock over won't make it grow faster. Growth rate usually depends on food/nutrients in the water column
