Sponge or something else?

Noticed these white mounds with translucent tubes at the very bottom of my sump. They are after the filter socks. Any ideas on what these might be? My sump has no light at all so its totally dark 24/7, has to be a filter feeder of some kind.

Looks like it could be sponges. They like dark areas where they don't have to compete with algae.

Thank you. Ill keep an eye on them. I dont mind them being there but dont want them taking over the whole DT either.

Sponges won't take over your tank. They're an indication you have good water quality. The ones I see reproduce in volume are pineapple sponges and even they won't take over your DT.
