I saw this at the fish store and it looked really interesting to me. Do you have an ID? @ISpeakForTheSeas

That's a sponge. It's an interesting species and color varies from white to a almost black depending on the light levels. I have some in my tanks that get to about 4-5 inches. I don't know the species name but am pretty certain it's from the Caribbean.

As mentioned, definitely a sponge. I can't make out too much with the blue light, though.

Assuming you can't get white light pics, can you describe the color, texture, firmness, etc. of the sponge? That might at least give us some direction toward a more specific ID.
