Good evening,

I have a question about sponges. There is a fish store that has a pretty rad sponge tank and they sell pieces out of it. They mentioned it cannot be exposed to air that it would die if it was. When I asked about how to get it in the tank without exposing my system to a bag full of their water they claimed it was not possible. Is this the case? Is the only way to introduce the sponge by opening the bag it is packaged in full of the stores “used water”?

Open the bag within the tank
These are likely red finger and can be challenging, needs good flow, phyto feedings and intolerant of sudden changes in parameters
