I have this yellow sponge that seems to be engulfing taking over part of a rock. Should I remove it before it gets any worse?

I also have some dull yellow sponge on a rock that is getting to close to some coral & a Rock Flower anemone that I'm going to have to se3e if I can break up & put the sponge in my sump. It will eventually cover everything.

From what I've read about sponges they are just like any other coral and feed of the various elements in the salt water make up but one down side is they are toxic and can release toxins into the aquarium .
