Sponges or something sinister?

Hey guys! Are these sponges living behind my shroom or something bad? Should I just burn the house down? Lol.

It does look a little bleached when I turn off the blues to get a good picture. It’s lying on the lowest, flattest rock in my tank though. I don’t know why it would be bleaching.

yep, sponges or tunicates.

I always leave the sponges alone until they start encroaching on something I care about or if they’re a really weird color, like grey or black. I don’t honestly know if grey or black sponges are bad, I just don’t like them so I scrape them off. Sponges are good filter feeders so again, unless they’re growing over something you care about, I’d leave it. Do not burn the house down. LOL
