Sponges?

Hoping somebody can give me an ID on these two pictures. Thanks in advance!

Yep! sponges - that yellow one is pretty cool! They usually don't do well in light though so they might recede if they stay like that. If they grew there though then no worries- that usually only applies when you turn over rocks or buy a rock with sponges and then expose them to light

+1- I have used this in the past and definitely saw sponge growth, though it goes by fast for bigger tanks. Also any particulate foods like phyto or something like roids can help it grow best of luck and post progress pics!

These are poriferan sponge and the yellow specifically is yellow ball sponge. The yellow does grow at an aggressive rate and can outgrow neighboring corals to their detriment.
The poriferan can in time be invasive.
If either get to that point, simply expose to air for a minute or two and there pretty much done.
Other option is to inject them via syringe with air or vinegar

yeah a of of sponges get choked if algal organisms grow inside their tissues

I really dont see why everyone is so scared around sponges - they are pretty easy to remove if they overgrow - just keep up on running activated carbon and silica dosing and your sponges should be happy

if anything they are usually pretty hard to keep around

Thanks for the ID everyone! No corals, this is our predator tank so I’ll just let them grow! Thanks again for the help!
