Sponges?

These are sponges growing in my overflow box ? Correct ? Thanks!

You are correct! That is some very impressive growth, typically sponges are isolated to small cracks & niches. I would remove some of the growth to prevent it from clogging your pump and doing damage. If you want, you can cut it out and put it back in your display (in a dark spot under the rocks) or you can just throw it out.

Thanks for the confirmation. Yep I clean the pipes annual, but I like to keep the sponges where they are… free bio filteration
 
These are poriferan sponge and NO congrats as these tend to be evasive and will clog your overflow box and eventually flow
Trim away with a Plastic scraper and discard
