Hello all,

There is a cut on the back/upper sailfin, and some white marks on its main body (both circled). Anything to be concerned with?

is he new to the tank? it looks to me like he got bruised up in the rockwork perhaps

Otherwise, it seems perfectly healthy. Eating fine, don't see any aggression that I have noticed to or from.

Tangs are just known to slice each other up. Remember, while you are watching your fish, they often play nice while they watch you back. Also, a hit from a tang is over in a split second, so your odds of catching them n the act is limited. That said, I wouldn’t expect a tomini to slice up a sailfin...but that’s what it kinda looks like.

Valid. That makes sense to me. I will watch for things to make sure they don't get worse then :)

I have a sailfin tang as well as a yellow tang and a powder brown tang. The sailfin has been very aggressive and i do see it sometimes with cuts on its fins. They heal very quickly (within 2 days). The cut on the body is something that i have not seen before. Might be ok though!

Good to know they heal quickly :) I'll check when I get home. The tear in the 'sailfin' is pretty wide, but hopefully it does ok too :)
