Was checking the tank out this evening and I noticed this slightly light spot on our Juvenile Kole Tang. He has not ate any food that we have placed in the tank recently that being said we are dealing with GHA and he has been munching on it a ton. Other then that he hangs with our clown in the bottom corner like normal. Don't know if I am being an over concerned parent or not. I did look at the visual fish disease chart on R2R the only thing I thought it could be was a bacterial infection?

I think it’s probably bacterial but wait and see if it worsens. If it stays the same or improves leave it alone. If it turns more red, treat with kanaplex, metroplex, and furan 2 in a quarantine tank per instructions for 10-14 days.

Sometimes tangs will wedge themselves into rocks at night for safety. When they do this they can often scrape their sides on the rocks leaving marks that can look like those pictured on your tang. But as 4FordFamily has posted, those scrapes can become infected. Keep a close eye on the mark as a bacterial infection can go sideways very quickly, especially on a stressed fish.

That is good information I didn't know Tangs would hide in rock work. Guess it makes sense though either run, hide, eat, or be eaten in the big blue tank...
