My wife noticed this pale "splotch" on our purple firefish this morning. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

FWIW, the firefish has been eating normally and seemed/seems otherwise happy/healthy...

Thanks.

Yes, let me take a "real" picture. I have 2 red firefish and 1 purple firefish (along with 2 clowns and a watchman goby).

Tank params are:
Temp 77
Ph: 8.0-8.2
Salinity: 33.8-34 PSU (should be around 1.25)
Redox: 350-400
Phos: 0.09
Nitrate: 6.7
Alk: 7.2
Calc: 430

well they are fighting. Magnifca (reds) SOMETIMES make schools, and will become male female mated pairs but not with other firefish species. they are likely to and probably are attacking the purp

if it's a fighting bruise, that's much better, in a sense, than disease. OTOH, they certainly look like they're interacting very well? I don't see any signs of aggression and we watch the tank throughout the day (for an hour+ at times)...?

they will act differently when they cannot see you, fights will also spur semi-randomly. That mark shows that likely something went down. I would recommend rehoming the purple

absolutely will do - too bad, it's so beautiful.

Now I need to figure out a way to catch it :P
