i just received my first delivery from WWC, very happy with the pieces I received, but I did notice white spots in the acro that was sent. The tissue is fine and the polyps are extending, it almost looks like it might be new polyp heads starting to grow but I just wanted to make sure.

I did dip before placing them in my DT.

Did anything come off on in the dip? Those could be AEFW bites, but maybe not... would need a closer up photo. AEFW bites are more oval than round.

Please be careful with AEFW diagnosed unless with positive id through picture or magnifying glass
Understood, the pic is a bit blurry and IME those look like AEFW bite marks. The spots don't appear to be like the other protruding corallites or new growth.

They surely do look like AEFW trail of bite marks I saw hundreds of these another sigh is pale dull colors, but of course better pic can help us out since someone else said bumps I’m looking at bumbs as well. I had a bunch of bumps on my pac man acro and wanted to died thinking they were new worm bite marks but It was actually new polyps growing they turned light green a few days later

They look raised to me, not really like bite marks. I would inspect the bottom of that flag plug very carefully in white light/sunlight for eggs to be safe.

Just a suggestion for future additions : dips don't affect eggs. Because of that I always remove new pieces from their frag plugs, then dip. When I remount the frag I am sure to cover all dead areas that could harbor eggs with superglue to ensure nothing hatches later on.

I can remove the plugs today, I was putting them in the sand bed to acclimate to my lights. How long to the eggs take to hatch?

I'm not sure on how long they take to hatch. Problem is you'd need to know when they were laid. I'd remove the plug when you get home to be safe, and inspect it in strong lighting for eggs.

Hi, I've lurked on reef2reef for years, but I joined today just to post something on this thread. I would check for AEFW, of course, but I have a fair amount of that miami orchid in my tank and pieces of it often just look like that. My guess is that it's probably okay.

I appreciate you coming out of the shadows for me hahaha. Welcome to the light!

Still hard to tell because it's blurry. I tend to think they are just bumps. Bites tend to look really obvious with a white light like a flashlight or cell phone light.
