Thought I was in the clear...but these don’t look like ich to me. What do you think? #reefsquad

I’ve got Cupermine and prazi handy. Let me know what to do!

I should say where to look. Sorry. Check out her middle stripe near the orange and white border to the right. Towards the top.

Looks like injuries. It there any aggression in the tank?

It's hard to tell because of the location for sure. Some additional pics may help.

I'm leaning injury from what I can see. I doubt it's ich. Another possibility would be Brook. Have you previously treated for Brook?

Yet lympho is another possibility.

If I could suggest, treat with vitamin C for stress when you feed frozen, plus a small amount of metroplex with focus to bind the med to the food.

Never treated for brook. She is almost 16 years old though.

I am uploading a video to make it a bit easier. It will need a few moments to process but it was shot in 4K.

I had this same situation about a week ago with a spot on her tail which went away. I’m currently adding selcon to one of her two meals a day, rotating through frozen, flake and pellet.

I didn’t notice this at lunch today (like all of us I look everything over and since she’s one of two fish, I notice if somethings different) and I was doing work in the tank this evening after work and she attacked me, there is a likelihood that she ran into one of the rocks.

What about a freshwater dip?

Have you added anything new recently? Corals or inverts without QT?

If you haven't added anything new, and had her for 16yrs I doubt it's any parasite.

I would guess injury still, being the situation you described above even more so.

Sigh. Yes, all of the corals you see have been added since May. I dipped them, but didn’t know you should QT corals. *facepalm*

She’s been through a lot in her life. Three moves including a move to a new town. You can check my post history for that story.

The odd thing is the spot on the tail and now these ones, which I think is the most concerning thing for me. I just noticed her mate has a small spot similar on his tail too. I’ve got everything I need for qt other than a HOB filter, but I can run to Walmart if needed tonight.

Think I should just wait a bit?

Ugh, sorry to hear that, this changes things...

Let's see if we can get you some additional eyes. I would probably prepare QT. If both fish have spots on fins and given the timeline of new coral, you may need to do some treatment. Because it's on the white stripe I am struggling to make a for sure diagnosis. So now I lean ich or brook.

Makes complete sense. I agree, it is challenging for sure.

I’ll hang out to see what those folks think.

I feel honored that you took the time to respond to my post @Humblefish ! Ive read so many of your stickies!

I am not seeing any behavioral changes. Eating like a horse and active. Fins aren’t clamped and respiration appears unlabored and rhythmic.

What’s my best course of action here? As you can imagine, been spending most of my evening researching.

I don’t think it’s brook or ich, as the spots don’t look like the described salt crystals; they match the description of lymph. There is no sloughing of mucous either. Also, you mentioned if were brook it would advance quickly. Are we talking hours, days, etc?

If he has brook, he will be in bad shape come tomorrow AM.

I’m reasonably confident it’s just Lympho on the body. ;)

Update: Likely not brook, as the spots have shrunken in size and no changes in terms of slime coat.

Both clowns are being themselves. Soaking their Mysis pellets in selcon right now, will feed after I get out of the shower.
