Folks please forgive the potato that I call a phone with which I took this video...

But I present my one surviving spotted drum introduced to the cycled and ready Atlantic Reef Tank!

Super excited for this little one's future!

Also, forgive the Wildcrats noises in the background...the kids are having a movie night lol

I went on line to figure out that this was not a banner fish. You need a new “potato” perhaps?

Vary nice fish! I’m excited for you

Indeed...dropped this one, one too many times while fishing lol

These are my absolute FAVORITES to see while diving! I’m so jealous!!

Im interested, what are you feeding it?

The little little ones like blood worms, black worms and larger pods. As they get bigger, mysis and enriched brine works really well. When they get to 3 inches or so, large mysis and ghost shrimp. As they get 5 and 6 inches, any meaty food. They arent picky.

Wow, that’s great! I observed the wild ones for several hours (not consecutively, a scuba tank only lasts so long) but never saw them eat so I was interested. Based on the body type at this age I would’ve thought they behaved much like a mandarin so this a surprise! Thanks for the info and I can’t wait to see your baby grow up :)

I had one in my Fowler for three years. My favorite fish. Always ate well, not aggressive but not timid. He died last year. Haven’t found a replacement. Got mine from live Aquaria.

It is such a great fish! Very very sorry to hear you lost yours. I feel your pain. If you are interested and I find more, I will let you know.

Cheers!

Very nice fish. This is one species of drum that does not get too large and is beautiful as adult too, although not as beautiful and interesting as a juvenile. I am jealous. I wish my tank is suitable to keep one or two. Good luck with him.
