So which will produce a more even distribution of water???

1. Spray bar with even size holes evenly distributed (say 1/8th inch holes)?

2. Spray bar with graduated from 1/8th inch close to water source to 3/16 or 1/4 inch at distal end?

How long is the spray bar?
Im not an expert on fluid dynamics but ime there is a limit to their effectiveness. Too long and virtually no flow comes out of the holes near the end.

Is this for a reef? Only tank i have a spray bar on is my planted to avoid surface agitation letting my co2 escape. Reef i care more about total flow dynamics in the tank. Where powerheads create the variability and the return simply dumps water in.

13 inches should be fine :) i would use something like the power of a mj1200 to power tuned with a ball valve. Shoot for around 180 gph.
