I know people use Krylon Fusion when they need a reef-safe paint for PVC, acrylic, etc. Has anyone tried this on white reefsaver rock? I have some old pieces that would be great for aquascaping my daughters new 20 Cube, but I'd like to start with purple color rather than wait months for the coralline to grow. Please let me know your experience. Thanks!

To expand on this: Even if the paint you use isn't toxic, by painting it you are filming over all the nooks and crannies and crevices that give you the surface area necessary for bacteria. You'll destroy its function for some unnecessary form that will develop naturally if you just give it time.

if you want the instant purple rock, just buy something like caribsea or real reef manmade dry rock that has been colored purple.

don't paint your rocks.

Thanks. The issue is I already have a bunch of reef saver rock. I just want to figure out how they color theirs purple so I can do the same with mine.

Thanks. I'm not planning on completely coating the rocks...just a heavy dusting like they do with the dry purple rocks you can buy from vendors. Just want to figure out how they do it.
