Noticed my springeri damsel picking up pieces of sand and spreading them on some rock, and in particular a frag plug. Anyone have any idea what this behavior is all about?

Could be clearing an area for a little resting spot. Spring cleaning perhaps??

Lol I suppose that’s a possibility. I was wondering if he/she was maybe looking for a nesting spot. Unfortunately I only have one damsel right now but I might get another

Had a electric indigo dottyback that kept doing it to my acan rock. Had to keep blowing the crushed coral rubble of the acans. Eventually just moved him to a tank with larger substrate. So far, that has worked. Would watch him do it, appeared to just amuse him. Was no real purpose. Eventually would grab gravel from other areas and drop it on the corals. Did nothing with the small holes he would dig.
