New springeri damsel has very beat up fins, has been sitting on the sand since you yesterday, breathing heavy (tried to time it its around 140ish.) Any help would be appreciated. Pics later currently on my boat

I was down at my boat all day as well - finally getting back to boating season! In addition to the pics, here is a link to other info that is helpful for us to know about your fish's issue:

The rapid breathing is a serious symptom though - not sure I can respond in time (I'm whipped, having spent the day painting anti-fouling on my boat's hull, and will be hitting the rack early, I may not see your post until tomorrow morning). When I hear of a damselfish with ripped fins, I immediately jump to the idea that if there are other damsels in the tank, it is likely tankmate aggression.
