So I have a 40 gallon IM NUVO and my lps and sps are dying. The tank has been thriving for almost 2 years and this past month everything is dying, on the other hand my zoas and shrooms are happy and growing like weeds.

I've checked my params today as I changed out 10 gallons yesterday.

dKH 7.8
Mag 1480
Calc 480
Phosphate is less than .01
3 basics are 0/0/2
I use the fritz rpm

Currently no fish as they have in qt for 28 days almost time for them to go in. Any ideas?

I just lost a massive acro colony and am about to lose my Duncan that I've had for a year.

salinity is not listed, and your Ca and Mg are high which suggests elevated salinity. I'd recalibrate your refractometer with a 35 ppt standard solution and check salinity.

I do every time i test my water for water changes it's 1.025

No major changes in a long time, I'll test everything again tonight and post it.

Also i checked last night when the lights were all off after about 3 hours and nothing was on them or bugging them other than a bristle worm that was on the sand

have your hands been in the tank with something on them ?
are you feeding anything to your corals?
whats the tanks temp?

Have you considered getting an ICP test done?
Do you run any carbon in case of excessive chemical warfare?

No, my hands rarely go in the tank. temp is a constant 78 and i run carbon yes.

I tested again today

Mag1440
Cal 420
dKH 7.7
0/0/2
Phosphate. 01
1.025

I cut up my acros as they started massive tissue loss and put them in my frag tank after a mild dip. Now to figure out about the Duncan and acans...

Going to the basics, light, flow and nutrients. What kink of light are you using and how old is it?

Has the flow changed in the tank at all?

No fish in the tank means less nutrients for the corals. The PO4 number is low. Do you feed the corals?

I have 2 ai primes hd and I've had them the entire time as the tank so almost 2 years. No change in flow
I feed reef roids once a week

I just went through a little episode of this myself - turned out that my salinity was way off (1.020) due to laziness on calibrating the refractometer every time. Lesson learned.

Someone has already asked you about lights, and I'll second the thought on that. The other thing I noticed in my case was that my T5's do lose some punch after a while (verified with my PAR meter). BRS also just did a BRStv episode on this. If you have T5's, and the bulbs are two years old, your corals may not be getting as much light as you think they are ...

Only have the ai prime which is led.

I'll triple check the salinity when I get home

Sounds like you are ok w chems. Without knowing Nitrates... phos a tad low for how I like to role. .08 for me. Nitrates I like around 10-12. What about anything getting in tank.. sprays, fumes? I had a real bad crash last year and couldn’t figure it out. My lfs owner came over and found rt away that my problem was those glade plug ins. I got rid of them, ran a poly filter and 20% water change and pulled out ok. Just helping brainstorm w ya

Yeah it's possible spray got in but that's the only thing I can think of. My nitrates and phosphates will be going up soon. I get to put my fish in the display tomorrow!whooo!

Do an ICP test
Phosphate is less than .01
3 basics are 0/0/2

Phosphate if it really is less than 0.01, is too low and you could be starving the corals. I'm not quite sure what the 3 basics are? To me thats Kh, Ca, Mg.

Have you checked at night for any pests?
