Hello to all.
My tank works on the Zeovit system (ULNS).
Apart from this forum, I visit the Zeovit.com forum.
15 years ago they did what I think is an excellent thing, to create a Database for all corals known in the hobby, for SPS and LPS. It seems to me that they did a great job and it's a pity that they stopped soon.

There are a lot of corals on the market today that get marketing names that say nothing about the coral itself. There are specific scientific names for corals depending on the type of coralite.
Unfortunately, on the websites of many suppliers, they do not even write about the type of this coral, but only a phrase invented by them or others. The slightest change in the shade of the color of the coral immediately changes its name. This is good if the customer wants to buy a specific coral with a specific shade of color.
The conditions for keeping corals depend on its type, i.e. from the scientific name. You can call them "Red Dragon" or "Ice Fire" or whatever, these are all color forms of one type of coral - Acropora Echinata.
It would be much clearer if suppliers, or even on the forum, people would specifically write for example
Acropora Ehinata - Red Dragon or
Acropora Hyacinthus - Red Planet
So I propose to create such a heading on the site - Identification base of corals by their scientific names with a description of the coral and its conditions. As well as all known color variations and their commercial names.
Here everyone can write their experience of its content and features.
Then everyone looking for an answer to their question could go to the heading by the name of the coral and read everything about it, where to set, which PAR, which water flow, etc.
I'm sorry if I'm tired of you.
Sorry for the google translator.

I am huge fan of knowledge archives as you may see from my signature! I think it's a great idea, I would love to see a database that listed corals by species and maybe sub-categories for color morphs sold in the hobby and their trade names. It would be awesome to have that connected to a gallery of user photos maybe by some sort of photo tagging system.

This is what I meant.
I think that everything will work out if the forum moderators and other interested members join us.
