Hi all,

I've had saltwater tanks for many years but only been dealing with coral for the past 5 years and SPS for the past 6 months. Recently went to RAP NY and bought an Acro and Milli and while transporting it 9 hours home and took it out of my insulted travel bag it was way too warm. The Acro was pure white and the Milli was also very rough looking. After acclimating and dipping the coral i placed them on a frag rack very low in tank and watched them. Acro showed no sign of recovering or polyp extension and eventually tossed as a loss but the Milli is showing signs of recovering with polyp extension.

My question to you all is by looking at this picture should i leave it be or should i trim the base off because it's not looking like there is any polyp extension on the lowest part of the base?

Thank you Dave!

I would wait for it to stabilize before you fragged it. Fragging right now might be too much stress. When it recovers and starts to grow, then clip and remount it.

I would not remove it at this time, handling will likely cause more harm than good. If it was me I would keep an eye on the lower polyps if you see necrotic tissue. If nothing let it be it will grow and encrust. If death is working its way to the tip, I would super glue the exposed skeleton and necrotic tissue. Give it time it looks like it might pull through.

Just dont touch it for next few months.;)
