this green sps had been doing great for about a year, and in about a day, one of the branches started turning white. My alk dropped from 8.5 to 7.5 over the course of about a week. Phos is stable between .05 and .08. Nitrate is a little lower than normal today at 10, usually 18-22. Any thoughts on what’s going on? ph is 8.16. Temp a little high at 79.4, usually 78.8. no other changes that I can think of

should I cut off that blanched part?

I have had things like this happen. I usually leave them alone. Most of the time it stops, sometimes not as fast as I want them to.
But I don't consider myself a typical reefer only because I do little intervention of my coral.

Most would say cut it off.

Kinda your choice and how you feel about it.
