i have had a birdsnest coral now for 3 weeks and is still brown and can't find out why I have moved him all around the tank from bottom to top for the lighting and nothing has change. My parameters are all in check

How long has the tank been established?

Browning happpens when there's not enough light or nutrients are in excess or if there is a lack of. This is a stress response.

I'd look at too little light or with your numbers, water is too clean. Also moving the coral around a lot can cause stress, thus browning can occur.

Yup, three weeks is no time at all. Esp in a newer tank. there's ups and downs.
How high above the tank is the light what intensity.
Ive not had a pink in lower light, but most are pretty flexible in their light needs.

K, I metered the light some time ago, and at full ful i got about 800 par(checked out w factory specs), so if the 50% is even then the to of the tank is about 400 par(look at the tank and assume an even drop off to the bottom). not a bad number to be at. You could go up, but id watch ALL the corals rather than make adjustments to fix just one. With low nutrients increases in light should be done VERY slowly IMO.

Ok thank you for the info so if you recommend to raise the percentage up alittle do you mean blues/whites and purple or just one Color? Also if I bring up the percentage what would you say for the max number to be at? So I will bring up the percentage maybe 5% every other week to see if that helps at all. then would you recommend to try to bring up my po4 and no3, I can't get a reading on my api test kit. But it could be possible that some of the algae in my tank is soaking it up before It even has a chance to get in to the water.

if the color is appealing to you, yes.

id give it time, and not poke it.
then would you recommend to try to bring up my po4 and no3,
I use food. its slower, and again how are the rest of the corals and do you really want to poke it.

its in the water is in the coral too an algae, if its a lot of algae its competing for nutrints, yes.
Thats why I use the toothbrush and snails. eliminate the competition.
