SPS browning and turns into white

With the salifert nitrate kit (low readings like the picture you put up), read it from the side against the chart and divide the answer by 10. In your pic it looks like a 2, but from the side it will be easy to see if its 10, 25 or inbetween (= 1 or 2.5 or inbetween). The instructions say to do this if I'm not mistaken.
Good luck with this issue. I have 6 acro frags in QT at the moment. 2 are bleaching, 2 are browning and 2 are thriving and they were all bought at the same time, same LFS tank, same dip/acclimation, and sit within a few mm of each other on the frag rack. I think like anything in nature, some animals are just healthier and tougher than others and not necessarily anything wrong with the tank.

Thanks... I bought an "Easy SPS frag" package from a local reefer. out of which, ORA Neon Green Birdsnest, Ultra Pink Millie , Purple Stylo and Blue Polyp Montipora are doing "OK" ... i know its a learning and patience is the key ...

Yep, all of those are super hardy. And should grow easy. My vote is not ENOUGH nutrients... I would say, the obsession of low nutrients that we've had for so long + MUCH better technology has actually negatively affected the hobby. I would say it's a daily/weeky problem on the forums. Someone has no nurients and can't figure out why they have no color/poor growth.

From the side is Nitrate 50 (=5) or 100 (=10). To me it looks like nitrate 10 and phosphate > 0.25 which many would argue is pushing it (the phosphate I mean), hopefully you can now contain it to stop going higher. I'm taking the approach (rightly or wrongly) that if you can grow film algae on the glass every few days/1 week then that is enough nitrate/phosphate in the water column for SPS - I have 0.5 nitrate and 0.02 phosphate and the few acros I have are thriving, only the acans seems to be sad. For wider context I also feed reef roids and red sea reef energy A + B once a week on different days to ensure the LPS/Zoas don't get too hungry.
