I noticed a few for a few days my purple rim Monti cap and pink floyd acro seem to have burnt tips (white ends). I'm sure it's a chemistry issue I'm having but want to make sure.

They have been growing and thriving for over 2 months now. I had a phosphate spike to .09 and corals started Browning out. I set up a reactor and the phosphates began to drop gradually. Then after 3 days of dropping all the way down to .05, I tested again and tested out to be 0. Hanna phosphate checker test kit. Tested twice, same result.
Calcium is 420 (red Sea)
Dkh is 8 to 8.2 (red Sea)
Nitrate is 5 -10 ( red Sea)
Salinity is 1.026 with refractometer.

So I know I need to bring my phosphates up to around .03 to .05. Do I feed more and turn off my skimmer? Also, what would be the optimal level to keep levels at as far as phosphate and alk. I believe with low nutrient levels, your all should be lower??? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Sounds like low phosphate, feed reef roids, aminos will be helpful too. .02-.1 is where most people keep their PO4

hi do you have a current pic

imo cal 450 dkh 10 mag 1300,phos almost none ,just my opinion

easy 1st what size is tank, get phos down asap,go slow on bumping up levels

Humm low phosphates cause burnt tips, that is news to be. Just measured my phosphates today and they are 0 as well and never had that issue.
