Hello,

I have a question, I have a couple different Acros and I have noticed something strange. My issue is with several of my acros one side of the frag grows great and all the polyps are out and looking great. on the other side of the frag there is nothing there and it looks dead. Any ideas? is it from lack of flow?

Could be the shaded portion of the coral? A have a few that do that where the underside dies off because it isn't getting light - but then it continues to grow upward and be happy.

Are u referring to shadowing? If thats the case, T5s are better for that vs led.

I get that all the time but it is because I have LED lights. LED lights are very directional so parts of a coral are shaded often resulting in a peculiar unbalanced look.

Pictures might help. I've noticed that flow does affect the growth pattern of my acros. Even with trying to maintain a random flow, if a particular coral gets a lot of flow from one direction, it will tend to grow more and have better extension on the side away from the flow. Do you have constant flow from one direction on these corals?
