Sps coloration tends to shift to green. Why?

I think we're talking about the same colors and describing them differently. What I was saying that even in pictures of RP that I've seen I still think it looks purplish.

I don't want to get off topic and argue. But to me that looks nothing like the red that you'd find in a monti of zoa.

Just to make sure I'm not going crazy I checked the color in that picture on a color identifying app and tried to find red.

Think this might be one of those things where everyone see's shades of colors a bit differently.

Well according to the dress maker, it is blue and black!

I have seen other photos where it does look blue and black, but in that photo it looks gold and white to me.

I have a handful of Acro's that have been turning green & I believe it to be a stress response due to a parasite bothering it. I couldn't find red bugs or AEFW, but I did see something tiny moving on a greening acro, so I nuked my tank with 3x large interceptor pills...
Several pieces are coloring back up now...

This was after sorting through tons of other options - salinity, major & minor elements, nutrients addition / reduction, lighting more/less, etc.

I’ve heard that low light is responsible for acros turning green.

I’m thinking this is the main issue for my PC Rainbow being green for the past seven months.

Anyone found a link between green corals and near UV leds?

I’ve got green corals yet 400 par, so not low light. I do use a lot of blue including near UV making up a substantial portion of the par.

What the heck is that top coral? it looks like convexa maybe but my word! that's some weird branch development, are those tube worms or actual branch growth?

Just a pink milli. Those are just tube worms; it grows just enough to heal. I fragged a few chunks off of it & it would only heal but never grow.
But that should be changing soon since flushing it with interceptor

Interceptor had no effect on my tube worms

I notice increased polyp extension from acropora after hitting with Interceptor, even if it's a "just to make sure" 3rd round out treatment.

I think it's the artificial beef flavoring Novartis uses

I saw a parasite crawling on some acros (black bugs? Not sure) so I used it for that, not for the worms.
I actually have used just the active ingredient in Interceptor & it did not work! Didn't even kill pods. It's definitely the beef flavoring that kills the bugs!

This is a very interesting idea. UV light can affect the DNA of cells, which is a why it causes cancer and kills algae. Maybe the relatively high levels of exposure for a tank are enough that it is changing your coral a little bit? This may be a dumb idea, but I’m not sure.

I have the same issue with some sps, my red planet is mostly green. Its growing really well though. I do run high nutrients, I just added a 4th T5 bulb in hopes of improving coloration. Unfortunately dont have a par meter but I'm chalking it up to low light.

Looks like your polyps are just extended a little more and that’s what’s showing the better color. Are regular interceptor pills beef flavored? I thought that was just the spectrum pills that we used when the interceptor was hard to get. It would be nice if the beef flavor was all that we needed to kill bugs but I would think its not.
