So I am finding a good number of my SPS are turning the same color- it is green and purple. quite a nice color but I don't want them all to look the same. My lights are aquaticlife HID: 2x 150w (10,000K) MH, Giesmann- 1 pure actinic and 1 midday (6000K). all water parameters are good. The lights were a bit old ans I changed them today- same type but changed MH to 1x 14,ooo and 1x 20,000.
I presume the coloring is due to wavelength. do you think it is just due to the old bulbs ( about 8 months) or due to the bulb selection? thanks

Are they wild or maricultured pieces??? Sounds like the norm... Also brown sticks normally turn green then shed there true colors... Look into known aquacultured pieces if you want different colors that are gonna hold.. Such as Ora etc..

interesting. i didnt know it was just aquacultured that tend to hold the same colors consistently.
