I have been experiencing a weird desease on the tips/growth of sps. I've seen it on bill murry acro, purple monti and Green Psammacora. It hasn't killed any coral and doesn't seem like RTN. It is only on the new growth. The tissue balloons with fluid and are "giggly". After a few weeks it empties and the tissue sags away. For the most part it'll continue growing.

I've never seen anything like it.

Below, 1 is where you can still see the ballooning. 2 is where it has emptied.

Interesting. I may have something similar happening. I have an acro that the polyps almost look like they are taking on bounce mushroom appearance. I’ll add a picture to see if you think it’s similiar. If you feel it detracts from your post, just let me know and I’ll remove it.

Here is a link to the video of it, that really highlights it. This Frag didn’t start doing this until 2 months ago and it hasn’t faded for me , like in your explanation.

Yours seems to be the whole frag. I only see it on the tips. Let me know if it drains. It'll look really sad but shouldn't die if it's anything like mine.

Any other sps showing signs? Shot in the dark but do you use microbac7 regularly? I started dosing it regularly.

Nope, just this one. Any frags from that piece also show the same symptoms.

Not dosing microbactor either. Very interesting condition, none the less.

I’ll throw in a bump as well.

I have seen improvement and I have a theory. I believe it was a simple calcium deficiency. The tissue was growing and healthy but didn't have the calcium to form the skeleton properly. My calcium levels were around 200 and I raised it to 500. I can only figure these corals respond differently to the rest when calcium is hard to find. Perhaps I'm way off.
