Every few weeks to a month I start dealing with tissue loss on mainly my acroporas, but also my birdsnest. I checked my notes and this dates back to an order of acros I received about a year ago. Before this order I had some huge colonies and hadn't had this issue before. My corals suffer tissue loss in various areas. Sometimes a good chunk will die and other times it's just a small area. Most of my acros are still alive and continue to grow. Just not nearly as well.
I'm guessing it's a pest, but I can't find anything with my naked eye. Could be a fish, but I haven't seen any chomping going on.

220 mixed reef, 55 gal sump. Been up for years.

Thanks for any help.

It could be a pest check at night with red light. What's you fish list.

Let's see...
I'm sure I'll forget some.
Various damsels, Sargentmajors, clowns and a few other that I can't remember.
Hippo tang, tomini, and another one that I can't remember.
Green chromis
Banggia cardinalfish
Green mandarin
Hoevens wrasse
Coral beauty
And a spotted hawkfish

You might consider sending a water test to ATI and/or Triton for analysis.

Also have you had Kessils the whole time? I know people who swear they can't get acros to grow well with Kessils although that's purely anecdotal.

No, I switched to kessils a couple of months ago. I was using 300w Chinese blackboxs for 2 or 3 previous years. They worked good except they were loud and I didn't care for the coloring. I'm still getting growth since I switched to kessils.

Here's some pictures

Did u acclimate the light slowly when u changed over?
Yup.
This has been a continuing problem for a year now. Every few weeks to a month and the dying starts again. Some acro and birdsnest corals get hit one month and then some don't. It's only affected my acros and birdsnest.

When was the coral baeuty added. They may become a coral muncher.

At least 3 years ago. I cant find him in my notes and my notes go back 3 years. I very rarely see him. He's a hider.

Well that's not the problem.
