Next step in my 40 gallon breeder SPS dominant tank.....now ready to formalize internal flow. Am currently running two powerhead at 50% for about 2500 gph flow. I would like to go to either Maxspect 330 or Nero 5 but am conflicted. Maxspect seems to provide the tank width flow however, I am hearing that Nero 5 has a good spread also. Any insight or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks ALL - jff

I love the 300 series Gyres. I run 2 350's in my RS 750 XXL, along with some Wav pumps, and the Gyres are my favorite. They are silent and much easier to clean than the 200 series was.

MP40's still seem to be the best flow pumps. I'd run one in a 40 breeder no problem...

2 tunze dc pumps alternating every 5-10 seconds.
Or 2 eflux wave pumps run the same way. I use 2 6006's in my 18x18x18 nano run at 50%.
Or 2 jebaos ran the same way.
All will work at varing price ranges.

I like the wide flow pattern on all the pumps like the ai pump. I haven’t used that one before but the wavepuck is still my favorite on my tank besides the mp40s. I would stay away from any gyre pump for a small tank, ime they are best for long tanks given their flow pattern. I always hate cleaning those pumps too, too much work.

I love my gyre 330s. use on a 3ft 75g. Might be a bit powerful for a 40b.
