sps dying?

I am getting started with sps and a few of my frags are starting to die. On one of them a few of its tips have turned white and died and one of my birdsnest is dying from the bottom up. My alk was low but was brought up a few days ago. Any ideas on why this would be happening?

The first thing that comes to mind without asking more questions is that you stated that your alk was low but you brought it up a few days ago. How low was it and how fast did you bring it up. Dead white tips makes me think alk burn which could be caused by raising the alk too fast.

When increasing alk you need to increase it slowly, over the period of a couple days.

the white tips occured a few weeks ago and tested and brought alk up over a 3 day period when first notices the alk was at 6.8
